Condition : Neck broken, head replaced

History :
    Bought. Sawankalok 1970's. These female figurines, called dukada sear kaban, were offered to the spirits after the necks had been broken so that the spirit would think that the pregnant or sick mother was dead and so leave her in peace. This custom was still practiced in living memory.
